Battle of the Brains is a yearly nationwide science
education programme targeted at under-16 secondary
school students all over the country. The Battle of the
Brains begins from the state level as students compete
against each other in a test of intelligence,
perseverance and sheer determination. And when the team
finally gets to Taiwan in December 2007 and South Korea
in December 2008, they face their ultimate challenge-
the smartest kids in the world!
Battle of the Brains is the Nigerian selection programme
for students who will participate at the annual
International Junior Science Olympiad.
Battle of the Brains will be televised from the
beginning in January 2007 to the participation of the
Nigerian team at the 4th International Junior
Science Olympiad in Taiwan in December 2007. This
television adaptation of the programme will be in six
episodes of 30 minutes each on NTA Network.
STATE SELECTION
-
Students participating in the 2007 Battle of
the Brains must not be born before January 1, 1992.

Student will then be given a web link to download
the registration
form and submit to and State Ministries of
Education and STILL LEARNING Offices
nationwide.

State Final exams will hold May 2 – 18, 2007
-
Two Best Students from each state will be invited to
the National Final camp
NATIONAL FINALS SELECTION
-
74 Students will converge in Abuja for the National
Finals on July 26, 2007
-
The students will take up two examinations
individually and then be divided into groups for
Practical exams and quiz

The best 12 students will invited to the National
Boot Camp from August 16 – September 8, 2007
NATIONAL BOOT CAMP
-
The Best 12 Students will undergo a tedious training
exercise to select the best six that will represent
Nigeria at the 4th IJSO in Taiwan.

The Best six be notified at a closing ceremony and
award night and will return for another one month
training from November 1 – 29, 2007
